Commanders Intent

Our organization has a strong legacy that is centered on our ability to support both our comrades in arms and their communities. North Vernon Vet to Vet traces its roots back to 1965 it founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for the service member and their families. The ability to maintain a strong voice in the development of those services to benefit our comrades is essential. Embedded in our value are the leadership principles that guide us. These principles are the driving force that keep me grounded and that I intend to see them represented throughout the Vet to Vet enterprise.

We Strive to be Great Teammates:

No matter your role or responsibilities, remember the golden rule: Do what’s right, do your best, and treat others with respect, just as you would have them treat you. Ultimately, it’s not about rank or position, it’s how we accomplish the mission.

We Challenge the Status Quo, “Respectfully”:

Have the moral courage to challenge others’ assumptions and hear out those who challenge yours. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it, it is a contract with mediocrity. Always be looking for a better way…. Innovation is the ability to see change as an opportunity- not a threat.

We Listen First:

Great leaders are great listeners. Knowledge and wisdom are gained not by talking, but by listening- so talk less and listen more.

Vet to Vet traces its roots back to 1965

We work to improve and increase mental health services through community education and service. We work together not against each other. We try to find solutions through education. Our motto is Each One, Reach One, Teach One

Are these just words without merit or do we hold these truths to be part of the platform we adhere to” Comrades , we are assembled again to transact business of mutual benefit. Do not let petty jealous or trivial personalities influence our deliberations. Let us uphold always the obligations of unselfish comradeship and loyalty to our organization and to the government of the United States of America.

Everything we do has pros or con’s that reflects on us as a whole

Are we going to be restricted to time or any limits, no we adapt overcome

Team, we need to regain the point of one is all (team)

"I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others feared to go. And did what others failed to do. I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness, should I fail. I have seen the face of terror, felt the cold sting of fear, and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moment of love. I have cried, pained and hoped, but most of all I have lived times others would say were best forgotten. At least someday I will be able to say I was proud of what I was!" - An Airborne Soldier

This means of action/support only impacts or fortified the missions resolve, to build better lives!
